…my modest attempt to engage with everybody who is curious about and/or involved in my research on Muslim activism and the new media. You are all more than welcome to comment on my work and enter the discussion. In particular, I hope that research participants will make their voice heard here.

Many participants asked me what I actually write and what I do in general within my research. This blog tries to provide this information. Those who I only know from “cyberspace” might want to use the opportunity to read, comment and to find out more about me.

But there is more to it: I am aware of the power inherent in my position as a researcher. What I write and how I write it is going to influence opinion-forming over Muslims/Islam in academia and perhaps the public in general. This blog will give those concerned the chance to discuss, question and comment my work. As for me, it will be a source of correction and constant reminder that I am situated within a vibrant and dynamic field inhabited by human beings who have their own voice.
